The Angry Loon

Last July we were fishing in the evening, at our very first Man of the Year competition. As we paddled along the rocky shoreline, this Loon seemed to be upset with us. We heard the famous call of the wild so many of us know. It might have been upset from when I attempted the extreme technical balancing act of "peeing off the side of the canoe" 5 feet from the shoreline. It almost ended badly when I tried to sit back down, the canoe shifted to the side and water came into the canoe. The end result was me laughing uncontrollably and Dustin scolding me for almost tipping us over.

 Good times.

Photo Blog - Birth of our Men vs. Wild Tradition

We packed Everything we could!

It was a gloomy day when we arrived, Dustin slipped on a rock and fell into the water within 3 minutes of getting to our Campsite which was quite funny and then later that day Mike tipped the canoe and like a real friend I was too busy laughing to be able to help him.

It was an amazing campsite we had no electricity.  We went to nearby electrical sites and borrowed their electricity to make coffee. Like real bad asses.

Hotel Willy. Yes that is a full size BBQ we brought! Real Man Travels!
View from the water in. Our neighbor Dan reminded me of Survivor Man. He was definitely one with nature.

Baby Carlos and I enjoying an Ice cream at Trappers Outpost.

Dustin and Mike touching the shaft of this 130 year old White Pine on our 4km hike. We didn't bring water we  brought beer. Best.. Hike.. Ever!
That is the top of the Massive White Pine. They are truly amazing to see.

It was a beatiful day for a hike. The worst part for me was rolling my ankle 13 times! Like some kind of sick joke! It was rough terrain and my ankles were weak!
That was the view on our last morning. It was very hard to leave as you could imagine.
Marten River Provincial Park is a Gem!

If you want to see more pictures and a short story of this trip check out my  Marten River Drinking Game  post it is a lot of fun. I wish it was July already!!!

Cheers,
Chris
